Every year in Term 2, we have our Oral Language Competition. This year, children have chosen a poem to memorise and have then written an introduction to their poem. They will hopefully have brought home their 'cards' so that they can practise, using good volume, expression and making eye contact with their audience.
Room 10 will have our class competition on Thursday 30 May, with Miss Twiss and myself as judges. We will choose two Year 3 children and two Year 4 children to represent our class at the Middle Team semi-finals which will be on Wednesday 12 June.
ANZAC activities - Art and Letters from the War
Since the school holidays, Room 10 has been learning about ANZAC day. We have made some lovely art showing the poppies of Flanders Field.
We read a book called Harry and the ANZAC Poppy which was a series of letters from WWI, written from a soldier to his daughter. Harry was the great grandson of the soldier. Using these letters as our source, the children in Room 10 wrote letters 'home' from war, pretending that they were either soldiers or nurses. Come in to read what they have written.
