Later in the year we will be visiting a marae... a very good reason for us knowing and learning our mihi. Knowing who you are and where you come from is a great thing for all children to know.
Have a look at the these two ideas for mihi - if you are of Maori or Pacifica descent you might be able to include your waka, iwi and marae. For others, you might choose the mountain and river closest to where you and your family are from. Sometimes this might be where your tupuna or ancestors are from, rather than where you were actually born.
