Last night there was a fabulous concert in our school hall. Mrs Yeoman, along with lots of children and some mighty fine musicians, performed some of the songs from the CD.
These wonderful CDs are for sale from the school office for $30. There are some really beautiful songs on this CD.

Our College Teacher - Miss Friel
This term we have been lucky enough to have Miss Friel in Room 10 (she will only be here for three weeks).
This week the class have been doing some Science experiments and it was a lot of fun. Scientists need to observe and draw what they see.

Marae Visit

After having our last visit date cancelled, we are finally going! On Friday 6 September - this Friday, Room 10 will be joining Rooms 9 and 11 for our visit to Arei te uru Marae in Shetland. It should be a lot of fun. Children will need to bring their lunch boxes and drink bottles as usual, a warm jacket, and WARM SOCKS! We must take our shoes off before entering the wharenui and it can be quite cold.

Well we sure were lucky with the weather - a lovely, calm, sunny day which the whole school enjoyed. Only the Top 10 placings were recorded, a new system from other years.
In Room 10, Reagan gained 2nd place in the Year 3 girls race. James Phipps-Green came in 3rd place in the Year 4 boys, closely followed by Carlin Summerfield in 8th place and Leo Strong in 9th. Amelia Smith raced in for 4th place in the Year 4 girls.
A big well done for everyone!

Time for our annual Cross Country! Tuesday 30 July is hopefully going to be the day, however if it's raining, it will be held on Wednesday 31.
Remember to dress your child in layers - have shorts on under pants, shoes that are easy to run in, and a jacket to put on before and after the race. Hopefully it'll be more of the 'normal' fantastic weather we've been having.
